It is the beginning of March, and Coachella 2013 is right around the corner!
Known by many as America’s largest music festival, Coachella Music and Arts Festival has grown within the past few years from one, to now two full weekends of festivities, held mid April in the desert of Indio, California. The first weekend is from April 12-14th, and the second is from April 19-21st. The festival is renowned for showcasing many popular and emerging musical artists, as well as established artists and reunited groups. The festival hosts countless genres of music from all across the board including indie rock, folk, hip-hop, and electronic. Throughout the grounds are several stages which continuously host live music for the duration of the festival. The main stages are: Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre, Gobi Tent, Mojave Tent, and the Sahara Tent. Last but certainly not least, we can’t forget our friends over at the Do Lab Stage, where you can catch a break and get sprayed by giant squirt guns all day!
This year’s lineup is awe-inspiring, with headliners such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Wu-Tang Clan, The XX, Sigur Ros, and Phoenix taking the stage. We are also excited to see artists on the bill that are gaining massive popularity and representing the underground culture such as, Bassnectar, Mimosa, and Pretty Lights.
Week one and week two passes are STILL available but will not last long! Save yourself the headache of dealing with those ridiculous scalper prices and get your tickets directly at Coachella.com.
Coachella keeps it GREEN, and so should you! They have partnered with the Global Inheritance Organization to bring focus toward inspiring people from every walk of life to act responsibly and become forward-thinking leaders within their community. They have implemented social-interactive programs before and can be seen utilized throughout the festival such as Carpoolchella, TRAshed, and the memorable Energy Playground found near the Sahara stage!
