Finally, the most anticipated weekend of my summer is almost here! In just 17 days, The Do LaB’s Lightning in a Bottle festival will come to life. If you missed the Lightning in a Bottle 2013 Preview, then first you should get yourself caught up on everything you need to know.
The lineup for the Lucent Temple of Consciousness has been released, and features everything from yoga, guest speakers, hands-on workshops, to music. Take advantage of the diverse opportunities and catch a “Fuck Yeah Yoga!” class or learn how to weave with local Yucca and Cattail plants. “Step into your Juiciest Self via Hypnosis” with Melissa Mango, or get a lesson on slacklining with The Yoga Slackers.
There are hundreds of unique experiences to be had at The Lucent Temple of Consciousness this year, so don’t miss out on your chance to participate in Afro Booty Primal Fitness or attend a talk about Alternative Economies and Digital Communities in the Age of Globalization!
It is important to view festivals such as Lightning in a Bottle as an opportunity to learn, evolve, and understand. Take some time from the music each day to listen to speakers and ask questions.
Don’t know which talk to go to? Hopefully I’ll catch a few lectures, but I know for sure I’ll be at the African Temples of Gods with Michael Tellinger. A scientist and researcher known for his revealing discoveries, Tellinger brings forth evidence that ancient Sumerians and Egyptians inherited their knowledge from an earlier civilization. This Annunaki civilization lived at the southern tip of Africa more than 200,000 years ago and were there mining for gold. What he has to say will likely blow your mind and quite possibly change your entire perspective on human history.
One speaker sure to draw a large crowd is the channel Darryl Anka, who channels an entity known as Bashar. Come with your deepest life questions and be open to answers that you do not expect. Alex and Allyson Grey will also be on hand to delve deeper into their project, Entheon, giving a history and evolution of the visionary art culture.
The Temple at Lightning in a Bottle wouldn’t be complete without a killer music lineup to keep everyone moving deep into the night. Last year the Temple hosted amazing late night sets featuring Kalya Scintilla, DJ Laura, Octopus Nebula, and of course Random Rab.
This year’s Temple music lineup includes artists like LYNX and The Human Experience, who will seduce the crowd into spiritual bliss with tracks from his new album and hopefully play some old favorites. The music at the Temple this year will offer something for all musical tastes including acts like Imagika Om dropping her tribal bass lines, deep-house legend Marques Wyatt, and the Lucent Dossier Experience who will put on a special temple set sure to please.
