Congrats to all our bloggers and faithful readers. You can now follow lostinsound on hypem.com. Most of you know that our old site was rejected by hypem.com so it’s a big victory that the new site is now an official blog on hypem.com. About a week ago, I submitted lostinsound.org and today I was checking some stats on our site and I noticed that we were getting a large flow of people coming from hypem.com to lostinsound.org which could only mean one thing; they accepted us. This means that our music now has the chance to encounter many new ears and I believe our music will rise to the top of the hypem charts. Follow us by clicking here.
If you don’t know what hypem.com is, here is some info.
What is it?
To put it simply, the Hype Machine keeps track of what music bloggers write about. We handpick a set of kickass music blogs and then present what they discuss for easy analysis, consumption and discovery. This way, your odds of stumbling into awesome music or awesome blogs are high.
Why?
We are creating tools that empower independent voices that write about music. Rather than picking and writing about music ourselves, we think a select group of passionate people can do a better job, so we amplify their posts and the audio they choose. This group will produce more vibrant culture and conversation than a huge social mob, or a rigid hierarchy of editors.
How does it work?
The Hype Machine tracks a variety of MP3 blogs. If a post contains MP3 links, it adds those links to its database and displays them on the front page.
Some of the frequently accessed tracks are cached by the Hype Machine server, much like Google Search caches web pages, to reduce load on the bloggers’ servers and protect their bandwidth.
