This year marks the 10th anniversary of Decibel Festival in Seattle, Washington. The festival is spread out at 11 different venues throughout the city, including the Chihuly Garden and Glass, over the course of 5 days with 140 artists from around the world. Focusing on electronic music as a whole, this years line-up is distinctively unique by all standards yet as eclectic as ever. With a wide selection of showcases, conferences, and boat parties, there’s more to do in a day than there are hours to do it all! Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons are reserved for conferences while Saturday and Sunday afternoons are for boat parties. Don’t worry, LostinSound is here to help you sift through all there is to do every day.
Full Schedule Here
Conferences from 12pm to 6:30pm Wednesday to Friday at Broadway Performance Hall
Sponsors: Windows, Dubspot, Ableton, Rane, Resident Advisor, and Panopto
There will be an opening gala at the Chihuly Garden and Glass’s greenhouse with Mileece. She is a sonic artist whose interactive “ecoscapes” are generated from the electromagnetic emissions of plants and by handmade, sensor-based musical instruments for an evening of Botanical Bio-Electricity at Chihuly Garden and Glass’s prestigious Glasshouse.
Abstract Earth Project and Decibel Present: Wax Tailor, Blockhead, Little People, & Rena Jones at Showbox at the Market
Whenever trip hop is mentioned, Wax Tailor comes to mind. Recently we had the chance to interview this ground breaking artist, found here.
Little People has been on my radar for quite some time. He produces heavenly downtempo instrumental hip hop which is perfect for any time of the day.

Cajmere vs Green Velvet After Hours at Q Nightclub
Cajual Records label head played by far my favorite set at Movement Electronic Music Festival this year as Cajmere. Green Velvet is another ego of Curtis Alan Jones. This late night gives us the chance to witness the battle between house and techno within himself.

Resident Advisor Boat Party with Ben UFO & Axel Boman on Islander Boat Cruises
Ben UFO has made quite the name for himself without adventuring into the world of production. Missing out on the Hessle Audio After-Hours doesn’t mean you have to miss out on one of the label’s founders.
Optical 2: Erased Tapes with Ólafur Arnalds & Nils Frahm at Nordstrom Recital Hall
The beauty that these men make is undeniably alluring. It draws you in, and wraps you in a world unseen to the human eye.
Nicolas Jaar & Friends featuring Nicloas Jaar, Tarik Barri, Mount Kimbie, & Phaelah at Showbox SoDo
Nicolas Jaar blends what you’ve always known, always dreamt of, and makes it into something completely new and mysterious.
Phaeleh is someone whom I’ve been following for many years now. He really knows how to pull on my heart strings. He’s eclectic yet stays true to his roots of dub step, house, and garage.
