The Oakland based trio Beats Antique, comprised of Zoe Jakes, David Satori, and Sidecar Tommy have “stumbled down the rabbit hole and emerged anew on the other side.” Together David Satori and Sidecar Tommy fuse laptop/synths and live instruments such as a sitar-like electric banjo, live drums, and violin to create exotic Middle Eastern influenced sounds with contemporary beats, West Coast glitch, breakbeat brass band, and down-tempo electro. Zoe Jakes presents the crowd with a unique take on tribal belly-dance, influenced by art nouveau, tango, breakdance, and Indian classical dance.
