Beats Antique Spotlight

The Oakland based trio Beats Antique, comprised of Zoe Jakes, David Satori, and Sidecar Tommy have “stumbled down the rabbit hole and emerged anew on the other side.” Together David Satori and Sidecar Tommy fuse laptop/synths and live instruments such as a sitar-like electric banjo, live drums, and violin to create exotic Middle Eastern influenced sounds with contemporary beats, West Coast glitch, breakbeat brass band, and down-tempo electro. Zoe Jakes presents the crowd with a unique take on tribal belly-dance, influenced by art nouveau, tango, breakdance, and Indian classical dance.

Beats Antique has performed at sold out shows in some of the country’s most well known venues, and with an incredible list of artists including Bassnectar, Diplo, Tipper, Ooah, Yard Dogs Road Show, Jesse Rose, Plastician, MRK1, Ghislain Poirier, Glitch Mob, Adam Freeland, Ana Sia, Eprom, Mimosa, Mike Relm, Haj, Laser Sword, Sub Swara. Their one of a kind organic electronic-acoustic sound is captivating audiences around the world, coming fresh off a quickly selling out tour. They were a staple at this year’s Burning Man festival, playing popular camps such as Opulent Temple. They are captivating audiences with a unique sound and show, catapulting the masses into a gyrating rhythm that is undeniable.
