Modeselektor is one of our favorite duos, refusing to be contained by genre or definition, yet every one of their productions has a distinctive touch. Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary joined forces in Berlin in 1989, the same year that the Berlin Wall was famously torn down. The energy of the times can certainly be heard in their music. In live sets is where they really shine, managing to incorporate myriad styles from electro, techno, dubstep, and electronica to hip-hop. This track off the new album showcases some of their newer sounds, while keeping in line with their quirky “monkey around” attitude.
