New Signal Path Album & Fall Tour w/ Blockhead, EOTO, Bluetech, EPROM & Designer Drugs!

Signal Path just dropped their best album yet, Imaginary Lines. Ryan Burnett has improved both the guitar work and overall production, and Damon Metzner added more variety and effects to his drums. The result is a more listenable development of their eclectic brand of Electronica, a smoother synthesis of live instrumentation and digital bass with effects. There are a lot more guitars, many of them acoustic, and rock structure is more prevalent- although many songs are still primarily dance tracks. Harder beats and prettier instrumental and ambient parts make for a powerful mix, and the massive fall tour they just announced with Blockhead, Bluetech, EPROM, EOTO and Designer Drugs is gonna be a banger.

Here are some tasty niblets from the album:

This track contains some great samples from a Johnny Cash interview and seamless layering of custom guitar samples & beats:

Love You Like Cash

This one is a glitchy, melodic dance tune that kicks the album off with energy and style:

Slow Your Thoughts

The album is solid and interesting, a heartening evolution of their sound. Other stand-out tracks include “Mystery of the Yeti,” which layers ambient effects like the echoes of a Yeti cave (or Chewbacca’s high school reunion) over bouncing beats and guitar, reminiscent of early Sound Tribe. “Cree” somehow bends twangy Western guitars and banjos into a flowing electronic jam.
