Take a trip to distant lands with this solid representation of Desert Dwellers‘ evolving sound. Probably my favorite Desert Dwellers mix released yet, Amani‘s set from Still Vibrations IV in Edmonton, Canada. With almost two hours of downtempo, dubstep and deep, entertaining beats, the set contains material from their newest release, as well as brand new tracks I don’t recognize, always good. It’s very psychedelic and enough is going on that you can zone into the beats, but it also works as background music, stimulating the mind with diverse rhythms and an ambient glow. Organic instrumentation from flutes, strings, and drums bring the music to life. Amani keeps the set moving with unique samples and genre changes.
Desert Dwellers are always an experience, bringing different sounds, line-ups and manifestations of their music – looking forward to the next time I can share in it live!
