Electric Forest Festival Preview

As the 4th of July quickly approaches, I couldn’t think of any place better to celebrate than Rothbury, Michigan. After attending Rothbury in 2009, I was initially a little skeptical of attending Electric Forest, as I couldn’t imagine anything comparing to the lineup and beautiful festie vibes of Rothbury 2009. But the universe took it’s course and I will be making the trek to the Sherwood Forest once again in 6 days. As the daily countdown diminishes, I find the skepticism also diminishing and I have nothing but excitement to see what Electric Forest can bring! [To checkout the winner and entries of the EFF Creative Allies poster contest, click here]

Recent additions to the lineup include Keller Williams and Lotus, which only adds to my excitement as Lotus is one of my favorite bands and their set at Rothbury 2009 holds a spot in my top sets of all time. This year, Electric Forest has more to offer than just music including a 60,000 square foot indoor water park, glow in the dark disc golf, a life size mousetrap (yes, the board game), and the return of the extravagant Sherwood Forest. With three performances from the String Cheese Incident; daily yoga, hoop, and poi workshops; performances from the Cirque Du Womp, and so much more to experience we all better rest up before we arrive! Visit www.electricforestfestival.com to purchase tickets (2-day tickets and weekend passes are still available), and to view the complete stage schedule and festival map. Though the venue map appears to be different from past Rothbury festivals, the addition of a Forest Stage deep inside the Sherwood Forest sounds like the perfect place to catch sets from two of my favorite producers: Emancipator and Eskmo. Since I wasn’t lucky enough to catch the secret Lotus set in the Sherwood Forest in 2009, I’m happy to know the forest sets ahead of time this year! This String Cheese Incident video from Rothbury really gets me excited..
