Heyoka: “The Thunder Dreamer’s” First Trip to the East Coast

Heyoka performed his East Coast debut on August 29th at Club Exit in Brooklyn, NY for 6362MetaForce’s 3rd Anniversary event,”Brooklyn Summer Stomp”. Originating in San Francisco, Heyoka’s own style of psychedelic electronic dub music is nearly incomparable to any other sound of music produced today. A yearly womp-staple at the Burning Man Festival, Heyoka performs sparingly across the West Coast and is a part of this year’s Shambhala Festival (BC) and Symbiosis Gathering (Yosemite,California). He did not disappoint the NYC, giving the Use Your Head crew a taste of his self proclaimed West Coast “psytellgibientglitchdubwhomphop”. He twisted out sounds of robot bass and ascending/descending ripples and tears through outer space. 6362MetaForce went all out with their decor, boasting top of the line black light responsive paintings for your interactive pleasure, and they made it just that. A small trip into Goa with a little taste of Heyókȟa. We talked to him briefly and let him know how much the Northeast wants him back here, and the respect and praise he has recieved from the Use Your Head crew.
