I just found this information posted on STS9′s website:

“STS9 and 1320 RECORDS are pleased to announce the pending release of STS9’s new studio album “AD EXPLORATA” later this fall. Keep an eye out for tons of details in the coming weeks.”

So, what does this mean exactly? Looks as though Tribe really has got some changes to implement-and fast. They have recently released their long-time “light guy” and supposedly switching over to large light screens behind their stage set up. After the announcement of an additional Acoustic Night prior to their New Years Run in Denver this year, many of us were left wondering how the “pendulum” would be swinging for Tribe in the near future( See STS9: More Than Meets the Ear)

With STS9′s fall tour starting on October 2nd and with stops all along the East Coast, I will be sure to be ready to expect anything when I catch them live next month in Boston and NYC.

    I got a hunch they’re going to push it even more into the mellower range… It always amazed me how well these guys turn a chill(n) sound into such a rage show (albeit there are excessive calms at times). Crossing vast genre distances and the stigma against weak associations I find sts9 increasingly similar to dave matthews… Both originated in friday night esk lets put on a fun show. Grabbed with two hands the potential political influence their growing notoriety held. Then veered into studio releases that would never jive a friday night party if someone hit play on the cd and the band faked a preformance. And yet the songs or more notably the artist’s talents were flexible enough to produce their studio songs with a flavor of party emotion that their fan base is accustom to… aka. pro status
